About

LofiCouch is built for small rooms, not noisy feeds

Learn what LofiCouch is, why it is built for private watch parties, and how it handles streaming-provider independence, support, and trust.

What to know

The product started from the simple need to watch something together from far away and still feel close. That is why LofiCouch keeps the room private, the controls obvious, and the social layer close to the video.

Private room codes and links for small groups.

Synced playback, voice, chat, reactions, and shared playlists.

A browser extension for supported streaming services where each viewer uses their own account.

A support-first privacy posture: no selling personal information, no protected-video restreaming, and clear contact at hello@loficouch.com.

Origin story

It started with wanting one quiet night to feel shared.

LofiCouch started because of me and her: the ordinary long-distance wish to watch the same thing, hear the same laugh, pause at the same moment, and not let setup get in the way of feeling close.

Origin story

Why this exists

LofiCouch came from a familiar problem: wanting to share a quiet night with someone who was not in the same room. Sending links in chat worked for a minute, but the feeling kept breaking whenever someone paused, missed a line, switched tabs, or had to ask where everyone was in the video.

The problem was emotional, not just technical

The goal was never only synced playback. It was the small feeling of being together: hearing a reaction, sending a quick message, choosing the next video, and not turning the night into tech support.

Room-first by design

That is why LofiCouch starts with a private room instead of a public feed. The invite, source, queue, members, chat, voice, and reactions belong in one place.

Built carefully while it grows

The product is still shaped around honest limits: small rooms, provider independence, each viewer's own streaming access, and clear support when something feels off.

Principles

What LofiCouch cares about

The product is intentionally calmer than a public social feed. It is meant for friends, partners, classmates, and small groups who want a shared room without turning the night into a broadcast.

Small-group comfort

Room codes, saved spaces, and friend-focused features keep the experience closer to a private hangout.

Clear source boundaries

LofiCouch coordinates the room experience but does not claim ownership of third-party videos or streaming services.

Useful social tools

Voice, chat, reactions, shared queues, and member status are included because they make the room easier to share.

Independence

LofiCouch is a companion tool

LofiCouch is independent from streaming providers. It does not claim to be endorsed by Netflix, JioHotstar, Crunchyroll, YouTube, Google Drive, or any other provider. For protected streaming, each viewer watches through their own account and LofiCouch coordinates the shared room experience around that playback.
